FSPC Event #9 (Day 2): Raj Vohra's Pocket Aces Eliminates Two Short Stacks, Juan Martinez Follows

2018 Florida State Poker Championship
Event #9 | $1,100 No Limit Hold'em ($200,000 GTD)
Level 20 (Blinds 6,000/12,000/12,000)
Total Event #9 Entries: 341
Event #9 Players Remaining: 15

Raj Vohra eliminated the start of Day 2 chip leader Evan Teitelbaum, and just added two more knockouts to his list, as his pocket aces held up in a three-way all-in.

Noe Acosta and Yue-Jian Wang were two of the shortest stacks remaining in the field, and just a few hands after the re-draw, they would both be at risk.  Raj Vohra had called both players all-in, and the cards were then tabled:

Vohra: A A
Wang: 5♠ 5
Acosta: A♠ 10

Runout: Q♠ 6♣ 7 8♠ 2♣

Raj was safe on the flop, but had to sweat out the river, as Wang gained eight extra outs towards a win.  The deuce on the river would solidify the double-elimination for Vohra, who chipped up to 870,000.

Raj Vohra - 870,000
Noe Acosta - 17th Place ($4,190)
Yue-Jian Wang - 18th Place ($4,190)

After losing that massive pot to Matt Smith (where Smith made the royal flush against bottom set), Juan Martinez would be left with just over fifteen big blinds.  He'd be eliminated just moments ago.
