Monday, July 23rd: Players Return For Day 2 Of Event #9, As The FSPC Schedule Rolls On

ICYMI: Yesterday was the final flight for Event #9, as players knew it was their last chance to try and bag chips for Day 2, for a tournament that now has a prize pool of $331,945.  Flight 1D ended up with (109) entries, of which (28) players were able to pack away chips for today's action (Day 2 begins at 12:00pm).  Bryan Moon (Chicago, IL) took the chip lead around the dinner break, and would never relinquish that lead, through the flight's final six levels.  He earned himself an Event #14 seat ($1,500 NLH FSPC Main Event), as his 331,500 stack was more than 100,000 chips than the second largest stack of the flight (which belonged to Casey Kaplan, who bagged 218,000).

The official numbers to this point of Event #9 stand at (327) entries, of which (77) players will be returning for this afternoon's Day 2 (12:00pm).  The official prize pool sits at $331,945, but all of those numbers will change before today's play begins, as players can still register for the tournament. Registration is available until the first cards are dealt for Day 2, so those interested in entering the event, should plan to arrive at least five or ten minutes before action is scheduled to begin.

Tournaments: Today's FSPC schedule begins at 12:00pm, with Day 2 of Event #9 ($1,100 No Limit Hold'em $200,000 GTD).  Players that enter the event today will be sitting down to starting stacks of 30,000 (ten big blinds), with Day 2 levels transitioning to (50) minutes in length.  Play is scheduled to  conclude once the tournament has reached a winner, as we look to crown the ninth trophy winner of the series.

As play reaches the money in Event #9, the next tournament on the Florida State Poker Championship schedule begins.  At 3:00pm, the cards will get in the air for Event #10, which is a $350 No Limit Hold'em "Black Chip Bounty" event (that boasts a $15,000 GTD).  The tournament is structured with 15,000 unit starting stacks, and levels that last (30) minutes.  Registration for the event is open through Level 8, and the break that follows.

Promotions: From (9:00am-10:00am), the high hand will award $150 every (30) minutes.  The high hands will then transition from 10:00am-6:00pm, with the opportunity to win $400 every (30) minutes.  During that period, the promotion sees tournament players eligible each half-hour for $100 high hands, 2/2 limit hold'em players eligible for $200 high hands, 2/4 limit hold'em players eligible for $300 high hands, and all other raked games (1/2-5/10 NLH, 4/8 Omaha 8B, 6/12 O.E., etc.) eligible for $400 high hands.

It should also be noted that players are able to win the high hand using only one card in their hand.  The payouts for those that use one card are different than the standard numbers listed above, and can be found (full listing of one-card payouts on flyers in the poker room).
